The Scotland Memorial Foundation is celebrating National Doctors’ Day (March 30) by giving donors, patients, and the community the opportunity to honor physicians for dedicating their lives to our care and community.

You may donate to the Foundation in honor of a physician who has made a difference in your life and include a personal message of thanks! Your physician will be notified of your donation in their honor.

Your gift will support the Foundation’s Mobile Mammography Fund- to purchase the 3D equipment to be retrofitted in our Scotland mobile bus, allowing us to reach those in our rural areas who don’t have easy access to the hospital. It will ensure everyone receives the same access to care to screen early and regularly.

History of Doctor's Day

The small community of Winder, Georgia started Doctors’ Day in 1933 by sending cards of thanks to local physicians and their spouses. The effort spread from there, and in 1990, March 30 was officially recognized as “National Doctors’ Day” by the U.S. House and Senate, and through an executive order signed by President George H.W. Bush.

You can count on the doctors at Scotland Health Care System to be there when you need them most. Show your appreciation by making a gift this Doctors’ Day and let your favorite doctors know you are grateful for their skill, care, and compassion. Thank you for your support!
