Scotland Health invites the community to join patients, physicians, staff, donors, and local leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the future expansion of the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center on Tuesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m.
For the past 26 years, Scotland Cancer Treatment Center has provided world-class oncology care for patients across Scotland, Robeson, Marlboro, and surrounding counties. As the need for cancer services continues to grow, the Cancer Center has reached capacity, making expansion essential to ensure patients continue receiving exceptional care close to home.
Cancer affects people of every age, race, and background—touching families, friends, neighbors, and entire communities. Today, demand for cancer services has outpaced available space, resulting in overcrowded waiting areas, limited exam room capacity, and delays that can impact the patient experience.
To meet the growing need, the Scotland Memorial Foundation launched a $2 million Capital Campaign to fund the transformative expansion project designed to improve comfort, privacy, safety, and access for cancer patients.
The expansion will include:
"Our Scotland Cancer Treatment Center has been a lifeline for so many families throughout our region," said David Pope, President and CEO of Scotland Health. "This expansion ensures we can continue providing compassionate, high-quality cancer care while enhancing the experience, comfort, and safety of every patient who walks through our doors."
The groundbreaking ceremony will feature remarks from cancer patients, Scotland Health leaders, and physicians from the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center. Following the brief ceremony, refreshments will be served.
