leapfrog 2025 fallScotland Memorial Hospital has earned its second consecutive ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog committed to patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

"Receiving an ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group for the second consecutive time is a tremendous honor. After earning an ‘A’ in the spring, we are proud to achieve another ‘A’ this fall. These back-to-back ratings highlight our unwavering commitment to patient safety and quality care. I am incredibly proud of our team for consistently putting patients first and maintaining the highest standards of excellence," stated Bebe Holt, Chief Nursing Officer and SVP of Patient Care Services.

“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Scotland Memorial Hospital made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
