Scotland Health is proud to once again serve as the entertainment sponsor for the Relay For Life of Scotland County, taking place on Friday, September 26 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at McDuffie Square in Laurinburg. This annual event raises funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society, supporting cancer research, patient services, and community education.
This year’s Relay For Life promises to be a memorable evening of music, community, and hope. Scotland Health is excited to welcome the Carolina Moondogs to Laurinburg for their first-ever performance in Scotland County. Known throughout the Raleigh region and beyond, the Moondogs bring a dynamic blend of Motown, classic rock, beach music, country, contemporary pop, and more. Their standout horn section—featuring trumpets, saxophones, and trombones—adds a rich layer of sound that allows them to perform everything from big band swing to jazzy favorites, setting them apart from many of the beach-area bands familiar to local audiences.
The Moondogs have performed at fundraising events, private functions, and outdoor concerts across the region, including Moore County and events similar to Laurinburg After Five. Their visit to McDuffie Square is expected to draw a lively crowd ready to enjoy great music and support a meaningful cause.
In addition to live entertainment, the event will feature a variety of food trucks offering Mexican cuisine, barbecue, hamburgers, seafood, sweets, and more. Guests are invited to walk the relay lap, hit the dance floor, or simply bring a chair and enjoy the show.
With local high school football teams—including Scotland High, Richmond Senior, Purnell Swett, and Marlboro High—all on a bye week, it’s the perfect night to gather with friends and family for a community celebration with a purpose.
Join us at McDuffie Square on Friday, September 26 at 6:00 PM and help us take steps toward a world without cancer.
