Scotland Health Names Jateesha Armstrong Newest Sunshine Award Winner

On Wednesday morning, Jateesha Armstrong, Patient Care Technician, was awarded the Sunshine Award in front of her peers. She was awarded with a certificate and cupcakes to share with her teammates. The Sunshine Award is Scotland Health’s Award for Extraordinary Nursing support team members, including Patient Care Techs (PCT), Surgical Techs, ER Techs (ERT), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Medical Assistants (Certified & Registered) and Unit Secretaries. This award was achieved by a recommendation from Nursing Staff led by Latoscha Campbell who wanted to recognize the hard work of Scotland’s nursing support staff.

The Sunshine Award nominees exemplify Scotland Health’s excellent patient experience. In addition to naming a Sunshine Award honoree, each nominee receives special acknowledgment from Scotland Health as our way of saying “thank you” to the unsung heroes in the healthcare profession. Each honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in his/her unit and will receive a Sunshine Award plaque and commemorative certificate.

Jateesha was nominated by six different nurses. Excerpts from each letter of nomination include the following: She is awesome to work with. “She has been recognized multiple times on the unit for her outstanding work. She is extraordinary, awesome, amazing and irreplaceable. Someone with her characteristics and personality is nothing but a ray of SUNSHINE. In my opinion she is the definition of the sunshine award: EXTARORDINARY nursing SUPPORT TEAM MEMBER.” “She is always on task and goes abound and beyond her work! Always showing integrity! A great coworker! Glad she’s on my team.” “She is a joy to work with and everyone on the unit request her when she is working. Jateesha is an amazing pct.” “Jateesha always goes above and beyond in her job duties. Most of the time, we don't even have to ask her to do things because she has already done it.” “Jateesha is always one step ahead and provides great helping hands for nursing staff. It is almost like she can read our minds!”
