Laurinburg, N.C. – Scotland Health is pleased to announce that Dr. Hannah Woriax is joining our medical team as a Duke Health fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon at Scotland Cancer Treatment Center in mid-November. Dr. Woriax will specialize in surgical care for patients with benign diseases and cancer.

Dr. Woriax graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She received her doctorate from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She also completed her general surgery residency at Virginia Tech – Carilion in Roanoke and her breast surgery oncology fellowship at University of Alabama Birmingham.

“With Dr. Woriax joining our team, she brings a new specialized service to our patients right here in Scotland County, Pembroke and Bennettsville. Patients will not have to drive to the bigger hospital systems when they can receive safe and high-quality care close to home. We are thrilled to have her join our medical staff and welcome her to Scotland Health,” stated Chief Operating Officer, David Pope.

Dr. Woriax is very excited to serve patients in her hometown community. She enjoys cooking, singing in her church choir, spending time with her family and poodle. She looks forward to serving the patients at Scotland Treatment Cancer Center.
