Cancer doesn't affect just one part of the body. That's why we offer a multi-disciplinary team of specialists who work together to develop a treatment plan that not only addresses the cancer, but anticipated side effects and emotional and social issues.

Services Include:

Art expressions 
Art expressions meets monthly for cancer survivors at the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center. Cancer survivors often feel overwhelmed during the treatment process and find it hard to find a new normal. Art therapy is used to explore feelings, develop social skills, and improve the quality of life. The program supports the excellent medical care provided by the physicians and staff of Scotland Cancer Treatment Cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Walk....Every October
Say "Boo" to breast cancer by joining the Cancer Center in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk the last Friday of October. This event is open to all community members. The one-mile walk begins at noon at the WR Dulin Conference Center. Those unable to walk but would like to participate may ride on one of the hospital's golf carts. Lunch is provided by Scotland Memorial Foundation and served free of charge to all participants. No registration is necessary.

The Circle of Hope Women's Cancer Support Group
This support group meets the fourth Friday of each month at noon in the Staff Development Center and is open to any woman who has had or currently has cancer. Lunch is provided through the support of Scotland Memorial Foundation. Look Good...Feel Better....
is a free, non-medical quarterly program offered by the American Cancer Society in Scotland County. The program helps women who are undergoing cancer treatment cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment. Look Good Feel Better offers a free makeover session, instruction on skin care and makeup, and the use of turbans, scarves, and wigs. Call the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center at 910-291-7638 for additional information. Pre-registration is not required.

Reach to Recovery....
This American Cancer Society program provides specially trained volunteers to offer support and information to breast cancer patients. As breast cancer survivors themselves, the volunteers help by providing an opportunity for the person with breast cancer to express feeling, verbalize fears and concerns, and ask questions of someone who has had a similar experience. Contact the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center at 910-291-7630 for more information about this program.

Cancer Survivors Day
The annual Cancer Survivors Day offers an opportunity for both cancer patients, survivors, and their family members to gain strength from and offer support to one another. All cancer survivors and one guest are invited to attend free of charge. ($15 charge for each additional guest.) SOAR PROGRAM - SCOTLAND ONCOLOGY AND REHAB
In recent years, there has been much talk about creating survivorship as a distinct phase of cancer care and providing each patient with a survivorship care plan. At Scotland Health Care System we are committed to offering the best available survivorship services. This is why we have implemented the SOAR Program. Our SOAR Program is open to everyone no matter the prognosis, cancer stage or phase of recovery. Newly diagnosed patients may want to increase their strength and endurance and prevent future medical problems; survivors living with cancer as a chronic disease may come to us for help managing treatment-related conditions; and individuals who are cured or in remission may enroll in our program with the goal of boosting their immune systems so that they can heal as well as possible.Our Rehabilitation Staff is trained in the latest oncology rehab care and research-based protocols that have been proven to help cancer survivors optimally heal and function.
