Willie Collins, who has had multiple cardiac catheterization, had no concerns during a cardiac catheterization when he realized he would be the first patient to have the PCI procedure at the Scotland Cadiovascular Center. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), also called stenting, is a minimally invasive procedure to widen blocked blood vessels that feed the heart muscle. Willie had been a patient of Dr. William Harris, who performed the procedure, for several months and felt he is in the most capable hands.
Willie, a Robeson County native, says, “Scotland Memorial is my hospital of choice. I live closer to another hospital, but choose to come to Scotland for the excellent doctors, skills nursing staff, and family atmosphere.”
Collins had an amazing experience through the whole process. Collins was awake during the procedure where he was able to talked with Dr Harris through the entire process. “I’m thankful for Dr. Harris and the staff of the Cardiovascular Center and the care they provided." said Collins.
Collins is grateful for a health care system that offers safe, compassionate, and quality care. He has no reason to go anywhere where else for any services that Scotland can provide.
