The evidence is staggering. According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States.

The good news is a colonoscopy at Scotland Endoscopy Center can help cut your chances of dying from colon cancer in half. Studies show that removing polyps (small growths) during a colonoscopy prevent colon cancer from developing in the first place. But early detection is key. That's why it's recommended that everyone get a screening starting at age 50. Those with a family history of colon cancer should be screened earlier and African Americans and Native Americans should be screened starting at age 45.

If you're 50 or older, don't wait-the consequences are much scarier. Click  to read Steven's Story.
